  Dr. Jeff Coleman OD

  Dr. Jeff Coleman is our 3rd generation Optometrist at Coleman Vision. He is proudly following in the footsteps of his father Dr. David and grandfather Dr. Ray. Dr. Jeff was born and raised in Baxter Springs, KS, and graduated from Pittsburg State University. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from Inter American University School of Optometry. Studying at I.A.U. benefited Dr. Jeff as he can provide bilingual eye care in Spanish. He also received the College of Optometrist in Vision Development Award for Excellence in Vision Therapy. Dr. Jeff’s wife, Ashley, is a 4th grade teacher. They have a son and two daughters. He and his family are members of the Riverton Friends Church where he serves as a Royal Ranger Commander. He has a true passion for the outdoors and enjoys hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities with his family. He is involved with several area community organizations and has been blessed by serving on several eye care mission trips around the world with his father. “I feel amazingly blessed to serve the families of the 4 state area.” -Dr. Jeff Coleman Dr. Jeff completed his externship in Primary Care at the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming, and Pediatric/Vision Therapy with a COVD Fellow Optometrist in Boca Raton, FL. He is receiving his specialized postdoctoral training and C.E. from these organizations:

  Dr. David Coleman OD

  Dr. David Coleman is a 2nd generation Optometrist serving the 4 States for 39 yrs. He was raised in Baxter Springs and upon graduation from high school attended Pittsburg State University for undergraduate studies. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tn. returning to practice with his father Dr. Ray Coleman in 1977. While in optometry school Dr. David’s son was diagnosed and successfully treated for strabismus and amblyopia with Vision Therapy. In response, Dr. David established the Joplin Clinic in 1989 providing the only clinic offering the special areas of developmental optometry, vision therapy, neuro-optometry, and sports vision. Dr. David and his wife Debbie, a now-retired pharmacist, have 3 sons and 6 grandchildren. Over the years he has served with numerous community organizations and boards. Presently he is an Elder at Riverton Friends Church. He enjoys spending time with family, hunting, and outdoor activities as well as leading eye care ministry mission trips around the world. “My passion to provide developmental optometry and vision therapy started through my personal experience with my son.” -Dr. David Coleman
